Cooking Fail: Peanut Sauce

So when I started this blog I had the intention of posting "the good, the bad, and the ugly" and with this post I'll remain true to that statement. I had my first cooking FAIL in the kitchen since starting the blog: peanut sauce.

I had really been wanting to cook a chicken satay with a peanut sauce since it sounds really yummy and all the photos of peanut sauce looked so good! I followed this recipe which I got from All Recipes:

  • 4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

  • The results were, well...yuck. I'm really beginning to think that my husband and I just don't like peanut sauce, since all the comments on the recipe website were positive ones if following this recipe. I guess I'll add this one to my life list of 'been there, done that, won't do it again'.

    1. Bummer!

I'm not a fan of peanut sauce either. So sad, because so many people go nuts (lol) over it!

    2. I remember my first fail after starting the blog - honey mustard chicken. I've heard such wonderful things about it but the version that I tried was not great. Love the blog.
